What we do

Research

Investment performance is increasingly subject to transformational environmental forces, social trends and governance imperatives. Institutional investors are responding with commitments to address Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) factors - many via the UN Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI). As a consequence, demands on fund managers to address ESG factors are growing.

Regnan meets demand for ESG via comparable, investment-ready ESG Valuation Data and Analysis for managers of Australian equities funds.

Designed for both quantitative and fundamental analysis, Regnan's ValDAis investment-ready ESG data on S&P/ASX200 companies. Convenient access via the Goldman Sachs JB Were PortfolioWise platform means ValDA™ is ready for integration with existing investment processes. ValDA™ allows investment managers to enhance their investment performance and meet commitments under the UNPRI.

Engagement

The Regnan engagement service uses the analysis as a basis for a two-way dialogue with companies to present the long term perspective on ESG on behalf of its institutional investors and to advocate improved governance of ESG risks.

Since its establishment in 2002 (previously as the BT Governance Advisory Service), our confidential approach to engaging companies has been recognised for providing constructive feedback and insights into the expectations of institutional shareowners. This approach won the Royal Award for Responsible Investment at the UNEP Tokyo Roundtable in October 2003.
